Three ways in. Take as much or as little as the question deserves.
Fourteen actives work toward three outcomes — brighter tone, visible renewal, and daily defense — held by a fourth: a barrier scaffold that keeps skin comfortable while the others work.
Evens visible tone. Oil-soluble vitamin C, Ferulic Acid, Niacinamide, Silymarin, Licorice Root, and Naringenin each work a different step — from antioxidant support to melanosome transfer to the tyrosinase pathway — so tone is addressed from several angles at once.
Supports visible renewal. Bakuchiol carries documented retinol-like gene-expression overlap; Pterostilbene adds lipid-phase polyphenol depth; Beta-Sitosterol lends barrier-lipid support so renewal is paired with structure.
Guards against daily oxidative stress. Idebenone, Astaxanthin, and R-Alpha Lipoic Acid work in different parts of the cell — quinone buffer, membrane carotenoid, and antioxidant recycler.
Niacinamide supports the ceramide-synthesis pathway behind a comfortable, resilient barrier; Beta-Sitosterol reinforces the lamellar barrier-lipid scaffold the skin builds from; Bisabolol and Calendula CO2 calm the surface — so the three outcome networks run at full concentration without trading comfort for efficacy.

Bakuchiol is a plant molecule whose gene-expression pattern overlaps the pathways retinol regulates.
Dhaliwal 2019 ran 0.5% bakuchiol twice daily against 0.5% retinol once daily over twelve weeks, and found comparable improvement in wrinkles and hyperpigmentation with better tolerability.
We use purified bakuchiol at ≥99% — not cold-pressed babchi seed oil — so the phototoxic psoralen fraction is removed and it is not photosensitizing.
Radiance sets it at 1.00%, alongside Pterostilbene and Beta-Sitosterol in the Renewal Network.

Radiance carries no water. Close to three-quarters of the bottle is botanical oil, and that oil is the formulation itself: it dissolves the lipophilic actives, replenishes the barrier’s own lipids, and gives the serum its slip, its warmth, and its finish. None of that survives a water phase.
Oleic, linoleic, and rare omega families run through the base across five fractions. Their proportions decide how the serum absorbs, how it feeds the barrier, and how well it holds in the bottle.
Every oil arrives with its own carotenoids, tocopherols, and sterols, intact from the seed. This is what a cold-pressed botanical oil brings that a synthetic emollient never will.

We needed oleic balance for stability and slip, a wide spread of omega families, distinctive native compounds, and a clean dry-down. No one oil delivers all four, so the formula draws on twenty-four — each earning its place against the same four criteria.
High-oleic oils give the base oxidative calm and a refined dry-down: Marula, Argan, and the oleic contributions of Pequi, Buriti, Olive, and Tamanu.
Cacay, Black Currant Seed (GLA), Passion Fruit, Kalahari Melon, Rosehip, and Sacha Inchi add the polyunsaturated counterweight — omega-6, omega-3, and GLA in named amounts.
Carotenoids (Pequi, Buriti, Buah Merah), coumarins (Tamanu), thymoquinone (Black Seed), behenic acid (Pracaxi), oleocanthal (Olive), squalene (Amaranth), and ximenynic acid (Ximenia) make these oils impossible to swap.
Jojoba wax esters, Prickly Pear tocopherol density, Baobab omega-7 balance, and Pracaxi C22 cushion shape how the serum lands and how long it stays composed on skin.
